20 mins drive north on Bruce Highway from Townsville.
Facilities include tent campsites, some tent poles available. Four separate
sleeping areas in two buildings. Two
Leader rooms with 4 bunks each. Male/female toilets (septic) hot and cold
showers with disability
facility. Catering is the responsibility of the user. Kitchen/dining area
(6 x 6m building) – 2 stoves,
large commercial fridge and freezer, sink, tables/stools for 36. Some
cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.
Electricity to all buildings.
Activities available are swimming and natural bush land is available for
hiking, nature study and orienteering.

Magnetic Island is off Townsville and is accessible by Barge, Ferry and
Bus service or own vehicle.
Facilities include one large (20x10 metre) block building with gas burners
and 12 volt lighting.
The building is used mainly for cooking, etc. There are 6 tent sites available.
Toilet facilities are in the nearby National Park. No showers are available
on site.
Drinking water is not always available at site.
Activities available are swimming, hiking, nature study and fishing.
